Hello there. We are Benny and Marsha Maynard and are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime! We have just become emptynesters and are ready for adventure. Not that our last 45 years haven't been adventurous with 2 daughters and 9 grandchildren, they have, but we are once again doing life as a "couple," and that changes the whole ballgame.
We purchased a 30' pull-behind Crossroads RV trailer and are in the midst of selling our house, storing our possessions for the next year, and traveling the United States full-time in the trailer.
Our first trip will begin on January 14, 2017, at Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge in Awendaw, South Carolina. We will be volunteering at the refuge from the middle of January all the way through the month of April. Awendaw is on the east coast of South Carolina, located 29 miles northeast of Charleston. We visited Camp Romain last month and were able to go ahead and set up camp and leave Abby behind. So that's what we did. We winterized her, locked her up, and planned to move-in a few weeks later.
Low and behold we got word yesterday morning that a "bomb cyclone" was blowing in and affecting the entire east coast from Tallahassee, Florida, upwards with snow, ice, and high winds. In a panic and worried about our soon-to-be new home, Benny rushed over to Awendaw to check on Abby and below is what he found...
He found her hunkered down safe and sound, warm and cozy with no loss of power in 1-2+ inches of snow and ice. We just don't expect that kind of weather down south along the east coast, and we are relieved that she is okay.
For those with the question, "What are you going to do about your business?" The answer is that Heart's Ease Naturals will continue to produce all-natural skin care products on this adventure. We will be filling orders no matter where our tiny home is located. Just place your order online, pay online, and wait for your wonderful all-natural products to arrive at your doorstep.
As you can see, our adventure has begun even though we have not officially "moved in," so keep an eye out as there will be many more adventures to share. Stay warm folks!
